God Loves You!

God Loves You!
Now Tell Someone Else This

As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.  If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:9-12 (NKJV)

God Loves You!  It's true! And He wants us to share this message with those who haven't heard it yet, or refuse to believe anyone could love them in the condition they are in.

The truth of the matter is this - God loves us just the way we are, whether we are dirty with sin in our lives, or whether we are shouting with praise - He doesn't change the way He loves us. God showed His love first and we should do the same thing with others. We, as Christians, don't love others because they love us, we love and serve them because we love and serve God first.  And we do this, because God loved and served us first.

He has already loved us so much that He sacrificed His Son and gave His life that others might have life, and have it more abundantly.  This is in stark contrast to what the devil has come to do, for he is a thief loving only himself, and he comes to steal our lives, to rob us of our joy and relationship with God (John 10:10).

So are we as a Christian culture, willing to do the same as our Lord?  Will we love others as if we love God himself?   This is what we are taught to do in His Word.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)

Will we consider others more important than ourselves, and live in such a way as to give testimony of the one who lives inside us?  Or will our actions be a reflection of Satan himself, seeking only to serve our own pride and selfish needs?  Will our life be one that is predicated upon accomplishing worldly goals, and obtaining worldly wealth only to be destroyed by moth and rust?

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20 (NIV)

When we look at what God has done in our lives, and we see what He has sacrificed for us while we were yet sinners, we see the perfect example to pattern our lives after.  When we have a true picture of this, we will have an inner desire to emulate this same type of love, and we will give it away freely.

Hey Christian, I want to encourage you and remind you.  We are only here on earth for a short time, dont let the devil rip you off of the blessing of loving others and leading them to a relationship with the Lord.  God loves you so much and wants to allow you to share in this glory and to be a part of His ministry.  This is where our true treasures lay.

STUDY QUESTION: Where should we build our treasures?

PERSONAL INVENTORY: Have you experienced and realized how much God has loved you personally?

APPLICATION: Start your day in the Word of God and in prayer, talking to Him.  His love will flow through you to others and you will reflect this in your attitude as you are filled with joy and peace.

Father, thank You for Your abundant love.  You alone are love, and I can clearly see the effects of Your love within my life.  Give me the heart and the desire to love others in my life in the same manner, especially those who I see as selfish and lost.  In Jesus' precious name, amen...

Be Blessed, Scott
