What's it all about?
Created For a Purpose

Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. Isaiah 43:7 (NKJV)

Have you ever stopped to wonder what life is all about?  It's a pretty vast question indeed.  The answers would vary depending on whom we asked, and it can also vary depending their age, family upbringing, personal views, social background, and a multitude of other factors.   But this too, would probably change a few years later if you asked the same person the same question, as their life will have changed to some degree, giving them a slightly different paradigm.

Ok, for us as Christian's let's narrow the scope of this question by rephrasing it;

Q:    What specifically did God created us for?

The answer to this question is simple we were created for Gods Glory (Isa. 43:7).

Q:    What does it mean to bring Honor and Glory to God how is God glorified by us?

*    We bring God much glory and honor when we obey His commands (John 15).
*    We bring God much glory and honor when we produce the fruit of God's Holy Spirit in our life (John 15:8; Gal. 5:22-23).
*    We bring God much glory and honor when we speak and act in a way He has taught us within His Word (John 15).
*    We bring God much glory and honor when we place a greater value on His will rather than our own (Rom. 12:1-2).
*    We bring God much glory and honor when we are truly thankful in all situations because we trust and believe He has a plan for everything (Prov. 3:5-6; Jer. 29:11).
*    We bring God much glory and honor when we imitate Him by showing others the same love, mercy, and grace (unmerited favor) He showed us (John 13:34; 15:13-14; Eph. 5:1).

Hey Christian, we have all been created by God to serve a purpose, and this purpose is to bring glory to God in our own free will.  This will happen once we have an understanding of how much He loves us and has a desire to share this love through us with others.   We are not simply saved just to be saved - God desires to use every one of us.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

STUDY QUESTION: According to the scriptures in this devotional, what were we created for?

PERSONAL INVENTORY:  Are you bringing glory to God in every way of living?

APPLICATION: If you are a born again Christian, then ask God how you can glorify Him today.  Simply mark your X saying it is your intention to serve Him and allow Him to utilize you in every aspect of your life to bring glory to His name.

Father, thank You for allowing me to be a part of Your ministry.  Thanks for allowing me to serve others and in doing so, glorifying Your name.  It is a pleasure and an honor to be used by You.  Use me today in whatever capacity You choose to bring others to Your saving grace so freely given.  In Jesus' precious name, amen...

Be Blessed, Pastor Scott
