One God
3 N 1

For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. 1John 5:7 (NKJV)

Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44) and therefore he will promote so many partial truths (Half-lies) in the form of man made religions with the goal of diluting Jesus' true identity. It always brings me sadness and it puzzles me when so many people will follow these false teachings and agree to refute the Deity of Jesus.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 1Timothy 4:1 (NKJV)

Some of these latter day false teachings will speak highly of Jesus, but will stop short - saying He was only the Son of God and then state more must be done by way of works to attain ones salvation. While others will claim He was one of the great prophet's of God. And yet the scriptures within the Bible clearly teach us He is God, He is The Son, and He is our Savior.  Here are just a few of the things we can know with certainty about Jesus, as recorded in the Bible.

*    Jesus was God in the Flesh Emmanuel, God with us (Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; 1Tim. 3:16; John 1:14)
*    Jesus forgave sins something only God could do (Mark 2:5-11)
*    Jesus gave eternal life something only God could do (John 10:28)
*    Jesus said He had the keys of hell and of death something only God has (Rev. 1:18)
*    Jesus included Himself in the Holy Trinity of God God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19)

God said clearly, "I am the first, and I am the last: and beside me this is no God" (Isaiah 44:6).  Jesus clearly stated, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last" (Revelation 1:17).  Well, either we have two-firsts and two-lasts, or Jesus is in fact God.

Let's take a look at the names that are associated with Jesus to give us more truthful insight.  Names such as "Lord," and "Christ." These are not His first and last names - they are His title and mission.

The word Christ is the Hebrew word Messiah, and it tells His mission. He is God's promised Savior, the anointed one, the Messiah.
And Lord is His title.  It signifies my relationship with Him.

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 (NKJV)

I thank God for keeping it real simple, because He knew how we would be tempted to complicate the easiest things.   And He knew the devil would distort the truth and make several counterfeit religions to lead many off the correct path - something Satan has done very well.  So I keep telling myself to keep applying the K.I.S.S., method, "Keep It Simple Stupid," by following the truth of Gods Word and staying on the narrow path of a Christian walk - one that leads through the narrow gate, which is Jesus.

STUDY QUESTION: According to 1Timothy 4:1 why will some depart from the simply placing their faith in Jesus as their Lord and God?

PERSONAL INVENTORY: Who is Jesus to You?  Is He your Lord, and your God?

APPLICATION: Keep reading your bible daily seeking God for guidance and insight continually.

Father, thank You for allowing Your Son Jesus to be manifest in the flesh fully God, and fully man.  Lord, I pray You will open the eyes of all who have been deceived by the enemy so they may know about the truth of Jesus.  I ask this to be done by the Holy Spirit and in Jesus precious name, amen...

Be Blessed, Pastor Scott
