Youre In Good (God's) Hands!

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. No one can snatch them from the Fathers hand. The Father and I are one. John 10:27-30 (NLT)

Life is full of quizzes and tests. Some are big and important, while others are small and insignificant. We start out in school and we are taught some of the basics for tackling life. These basics include, math, reading, writing, science, history, and of course P.E.

It is sad that most schools, or at least public ones, dont teach from the Bible. After all, it contains the real basics for tackling life, and it definitely entails most of the subjects listed above.

We can read some of the most profound writings ever penned by man, and knowing Gods influence on these writings, should make them pretty interesting to us. We can learn how the things of this world (including us) were really created, which definitely answers the great evolutional debate. Our world history up until the time of the inception of the Julian calendar is as thorough as we can possibly hope for. And if youre a math type person, just take a spin through the book of Numbers to get your fix, and to see the exacting nature of the Lord.

Another selling point for our children to be learning from the Bible is that it will be the only book that will teach them the truths of God, and will give them a roadmap to eternal life. The fact that our society no longer allows the Word of God to be taught in our Public School system clearly lets us know that fewer and fewer people are growing up with this knowledge, and therefore, theyre deprived of its contents and blessings. Im not saying that the responsibility of teaching our children the Word of God should lie solely in the schoolhouse, but that is where theyre being taught the theory of evolution as fact. Truth be told, we should be teaching our children about God, but we need to be learning it as well.

Lets stop for a moment, and take a quick look at 4 simple scriptures that are at the top of this page, and what we can learn right now.

Now, lets take a quick 10-question test here based off the scriptures above and see where we all stand.

According to the scriptures above, Jesus says that His sheep listen to His voice, and that they follow Him.

1)Are you one of His sheep?
2)Do you listen to His voice?
    3)Do you follow Him?
    4)What are His sheep given?
5)How long will His sheep last?
6)Should the sheep fear being taken away?
    7)Who gave Jesus His sheep?
8)Why should we be so confident in Jesus strength?
9)Whose hand are the sheep in?
10)And why are Jesus and God so much alike?

Well, after that little quiz, I would think that we should have derived some basic information that would lead us to one of two conclusions. The first conclusion is that we are given great peace because we know Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. The second conclusion is that we dont know Jesus, but would now want to know Him and become one of His sheep.

You see, when youre one of His sheep, youre in good hands. As a good Shepherd, He watches after us, and protects us, and provides all of our needs. He directs our paths and fights our battles against Satan and his emissaries.

As Christians we have the confidence of knowing we will be forever with Him, because He has given us a deposit to mark that we are His property. That deposit is the Holy Spirit Himself (See 2Cor 1:22; 5:5; Eph 1:4). He now resides in us as He makes our body His temple to live within. There is no battle we need fear, because there is no power on earth that is more powerful than the Holy Spirit.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1John 4:4 (NKJV)

Hey Christian, walk in confidence today! Youve got all the assurance you need. Youre in Good (Gods) Hands!

STUDY QUESTION: What confidence can we derive by knowing that the Holy Spirit is living in us, according to 1 John 4:4?

PERSONAL INVENTORY: What have you learned or been reminded of by the scriptures contained in this devotional.

APPLICATION: Take the questions above, and continue to read them this week to remind yourself of all that youve been given by God.

Father, Thank You for Your faithful love and mercy. Thank You for eternal life. Thank You that my spirit will never perish Lord. Thank You for Your protection, and for the power of the Holy Spirit that has been given to me once I made my profession of faith in Your Son. In Jesus precious name, amen&
