No Condemnation For Those In Christ Jesus Part II

No Condemnation For Those In Christ Jesus
    Part II
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1 (NKJV)
In Part I of this message, we learned how the Holy Spirit uses Conviction to guide and correct us in our walk as Christians.
This Romans 8:1 verse gives a message of liberation and freedom to every Christian who can accept and apply its truth. This is because this verse delivers the basis and starting point for our sanctification (Being made Holy). We, as believers, need to be confident and assured of Gods acceptance of us before we can grow in His grace and be conformed to His Son Jesus.
But the devil doesnt want us to experience this freedom and truth, so he does what he can to keep us feeling lousy about our Christian walk, and our relationship with God. If he can successfully do this, our actions will follow. We will act in accordance with respect to our true perception of who we think we are.
As I stated before, condemnation is the counterfeit of conviction. Thats exactly what Satan does with every truth of the scriptures; he distorts, twists, and perverts them. He will fashion the deceiving lies about them in such a way that it looks legitimate. He will allow 9-truths to get in one lousy lie. He is, The Father of Lies, and a master counterfeiter.
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44 (NKJV)
And so Condemnation is one of his counterfeits.
He uses this condemnation continuously on us, as his emissaries are whispering thoughts into our minds, attempting to counterfeit the Holy Spirit
    Theyre saying,
    "Youre no good!
    "Youve blown it again!
    "Youll never really change!
"Do you really think that you could go to heaven with the way you live?
"Youre no different since youve prayed that prayer of salvation
"You need to work a little better and do a little more if you expect to make it to heaven.
    "Youre not doing enough!
    "You cant do it!
"Youre spouse and family deserve better!
    "You are such a hypocrite!
"If people only knew what you think in your mind&
And thats the way it is with every one of us. We can end up feeling extreme guilt because we keep breaking those vows weve made to God. The devils emissaries can successfully conduct their lying campaign of condemnation, as long as we believe them, and we will continue to feel so condemned, and unworthy as a result.
I want to encourage you today, to identify with the truth of Gods Word. Utilize it to expose the lies of the enemy. Follow the Truth of Gods Word, rather than your feelings. It doesnt take much for the enemy to make us feel horrible when we believe his lies that we are somehow accepted by God, and loved by Him based on our works. God will never accept us based on our works! It is only based on His grace, and the work Jesus did on the Cross.
In the next part of the devotional series, well take a look at what it means to be In Christ.
STUDY QUESTION: What does the devil use as a counterfeit of the Holy Spirits conviction?
PERSONAL INVENTORY: Can you see times in your life where the devil has condemned you in your mind, even though you knew that Jesus died to pay for your sin, and you knew Gods Word stated that you had been forgiven?
APPLICATION: Focus on Gods truth and apply it to your life, rather than the lies from the enemy. You will be blessed when you act upon the promises of God, and your life will reflect a proper confidence as His child.
Father, Thank You for Your Word, with its truth, and comfort. Help me to discern the lies from the enemy today Lord. I choose to apply the truth Youve given me today, and I walk confident in Your forgiveness. In Jesus precious name, amen&
