Come As You Are

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. John 6:37 (NKJV)

Have you ever heard of those tales of the good ole boys club? You know, its like, golf at Augusta, political office on a counsel, fraternity in a college group, or Spanky and the gang. It doesnt really matter, it is simply a group of people that have membership to something that you dont, and you probably wont ever have. Well, there are many folks out there in the world that feel that about becoming a Christian. They dont feel that theyll ever have what it takes to be one. This could be because of their own opinion of themselves and the things that they have done, or it could be an opinion based on how Christians have treated them, or even made them feel.

There are even some religions out there that have twisted the scriptures. They teach that only those who have been pre-chosen to go to heaven will in fact go to heaven. What a crazy notion! Could you imagine attending a church, or participating in a belief that believes such nonsense? What peace of mind would any of their members have? How would they know if they were pre-chosen? Does God fax them a master copy of who is saved and who is not? And if not, then they are to live a life as righteously as they can, only to find out that they are not one of the special chosen ones, and so they will spend eternity in Hell. Bummer!

I am sorry, but you have got to be very vain, and extremely gullible to believe such nonsense, because it is not taught in scripture. In fact, the scripture above teaches the very opposite. And scripture is very clear that all who come will by no means cast out. Pretty simple really. We need to know that God gave all of mankind to Jesus, and the Holy Spirit comes upon each of us and draws us near to Jesus. We all have the option of coming near, and accepting Christ.

For my Fathers will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:40 (NIV)

We can see confirming scriptures that attest to this fact in the Book of Romans as well.

That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. Romans 10:9-11 (NIV)

This scripture doesnt say anything about how only a certain group can confess sin and believe in their hearts. It tells all of us, that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and that if we believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead (The resurrection) that we will be saved. It then affirms it further with verse 11, which says anyone who trusts in Him, will never be put to shame. Well being condemned to hell is definitely shame, so we can plainly see that if we trust in Him, we will be saved.

The Good News is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It says that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish (die0, but have everlasting life. Again, whoever means WHOEVER! Not a certain group, not a certain religion, not the rich, not the perfect, or the select, but everyone. You just got to believe!

Have you been willing to do that? Have you confessed with your mouth, and believed in your heart yet? If you have, then welcome to the club. If not, we welcome you to join today. Everyones welcome.

Hey Christian, make it a goal this week, to invite someone to join the club. Its entirely up to them, no pressure, just a genuine invitation from you. Ask God to show you who He would want you to speak with, and then allow the spirit to lead you in the conversation.

STUDY QUESTION: What do we have to do to become a member of Gods family according to Romans 10:9-10?

PERSONAL INVENTORY: Are you a part of Gods family? If so, are you willing to invite someone else to join this week?

APPLICATION: Pass on what was given to you freely, and be a part of the work in the Kingdom. It is God doing it anyway, you just need to allow Him to do it through you.

Father, Thank You for allow me to be a part of your family. Help me share this message with others this week Lord; bring them into my life, and give me the words and the power. My this be done to your glory and in love. In Jesus precious name, amen&
